if possible, and one X-Ray mechanic is attached to the depot
in each main area. The radiologist acts as consultant to the
Curative Units in matters concerning X-Ray diagnosis.
Transportation ConvovE :
The function of the Transportation Convoy is as follows:
1. The transportation of supplies from pot to Units, or
from Depot to Depot.
2. The transportation of personnel, especially the
evacuation of personnel.
3. The transportation of heavy wounded locally.
Each Transportation Convoy consists of 4-6 ambulance trucks or
boats with a Convoy Leader, mechanic, drivers and scouts.
Supply Depots:
The Supply service of the R.C.M.C.consists of a Central
Depot and Sub-Depots. The functions of the Depot and Sub-
Depots are :
Depot: 1. The receipt, custody and issue of supplies.
2. The preparation of standard packages, and their
distribution to Depots, Unite, and other wartime medical
organizations.
Sub-Depots:
3. The custody and issue of standard packages.
4. Or the storage of bulk supplies.
Each Sub-depot is in charge of a storekeeper, while the
Chief of the Department of Supply and his assistants are directly
responsible for the Central Depot.
As the organization of the R.C.M.C. becomes stabilized
and as more funds become available, it will be possible to extend
the service by the training of new Unita. At the same time, in
order to standardize vorking procedure, correct defects and
secure uniformity of service tho existing Units will be recalled
for training in the Emergency Medical Service Training 3chool.
